The Association for Rural & Community Health Professional Coding (Arch Pro Coding) has developed a comprehensive training course on clinical documentation, professional coding, and compliant medical billing for Substance/Opioid Use Disorder (SUD/OUD) Treatment Services with a focus on Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT). This educational session will focus on training clinical providers, facility/program managers, revenue cycle staff, and other relevant stakeholders to maximize reimbursement for Substance/Opioid Use Disorder Treatment and Mental/Behavioral Health encounters through proper coding and billing across insurance types to ensure financial sustainability of services.

Additionally, it will provide recommendations related to clinical and revenue cycle workflows to further integrate and support the delivery of SUD/OUD via MAT and mental health services, including virtual care modalities.

Audience - The priority of organizations for the sessions are: RHC/FQHCs, Critical Access Hospitals , Substance Use Disorder Clinics, and Community Mental Health organizations. Particularly, RHCs and FQHCs have unique billing challenges that will be a focus of the session since the often have to bill using different claim forms and receive different types of payments from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurers.

  • All clinical staff members who document in medical records.
  • Appropriate administrative, practice managers, medical directors, program/grant staff who manage people, processes, and/or technologies related to the revenue cycle.
